		<description>I'm still very much opposed to this idea. Even more so when I learned that the default rendering in all future versions will be IE7 if you omit the meta tag.

There is a modicum of hope in that if you use the HTML5 DOCTYPE the page will use the most recent rendering engine without requiring the meta tag. It still doesn't mean that this whole mechanism was ill conceived.</description>
